The pet parent shopping at 11pm isn't going to call you tomorrow.
They're going to order whatever the app says it has — tonight. Zachcart puts your shelf in that answer: real, in-stock inventory on Google Search and Maps, in the AI answers pet parents ask, and on the delivery apps, synced from the register you already run. No new POS, no website project, nothing changes at the counter.
29 POS SYSTEMS · 2 CONNECTEDPet retail is precision retail.
It's never "dog food near me." It's a specific brand, a specific formula, a prescription diet, the 25-pound bag. That precision is your advantage: you stock what the chains don't, and your distributor's frequent-buyer program keeps the regulars coming back. But a precision search only finds shelves that are machine-readable at the SKU level, and the app a pet parent asks at 11pm only knows the stores that published a feed. Search one of your best SKUs plus "near me." If the answer is a chain six miles away while your bags sit in stock a few blocks from the searcher, that's the dark shelf. It isn't a marketing problem. It's a survival problem.
POS systems pet stores run

What this mix means for your store
Two things stand out in that list. First, about a third of the systems pet stores run were built for services — grooming, boarding, daycare — and sell retail as a sideline. If you ring up food and treats through grooming software, your inventory records are usually thinner than a retail POS would keep, and that is exactly what a Google feed needs: item, count, price. We can still publish from these systems, but the first step is a short check of how your products are set up. Second, only two systems on the list appear on Google's free local inventory list — Lightspeed and the pet specialist eTailPet — and vendor-native delivery connectors are rare: FTx POS reports a DoorDash connection, and the rest are unconfirmed. Three of the 29 are already connected to Zachcart (Celerant, Lightspeed Retail and NCR Counterpoint, the three the directory lists for pet). For most pet stores, the register is not going to put the shelf online by itself. That is the gap Zachcart closes, whichever row you're in.
If your register tracks a sale, we can put it online
We connect the registers common in independent pet retail. Cloud pet-specialist systems and general cloud platforms connect by API. Windows and server systems — the Counterpoint-based and on-premise installs still common in pet — connect by a lightweight remote connector. Run a system not shown here? We build new integrations in days, not quarters.

Four outcomes. One connection.
Your in-stock food, treats, and supplies on Google Search and Maps at the moment a pet parent nearby asks — brand, formula and bag size, not just "pet store."
Product pages under your store's name: clean data, live stock, no website project.
Your shelf as an answer AI assistants can cite, including brand- and formula-level queries like "grain-free puppy food near me."
No dark orders: what sells at the register drops off the feed within a minute, so nobody drives over for an empty hook.
For pet distributors
Supply hundreds of independents? One agreement puts the whole network in the answer — and gives your reps a consented, live view of the shelves they serve.
