It's the first warm Saturday. They want the tomato starts and the feed. The search sent them to the big box.
Garden centers, nurseries and farm stores sell on weather and on weekends — and sell things the big box can't match: the local varieties, the bagged feed by the pallet, the staff who knows what to plant this week. Zachcart puts your real, in-stock inventory on Google Search and Maps, in AI answers and on the delivery apps, synced from the system you already run.
Garden and farm is seasonal, same-day retail.
The search is "tomato starts near me" on the first warm weekend, "layer feed 50 lb" when the bin runs out, "fruit tree" the week the rebate lands. The window is days, sometimes hours, and it closes on whichever store the phone says has it. The big box publishes a feed. Your register — often an on-premise system that also runs the feed room, the nursery and the rental counter — doesn't. Search one of your spring best-sellers plus "near me." If the chain shows up and you don't, that's the dark shelf.

What this mix means for your store
Only six of the 24 systems are cloud; the rest are hybrid, on-premise, or don't publish how they run, which is the highest share of server-based systems of any vertical we researched outside hardware. That is why the remote connector matters here more than almost anywhere: the inventory is tracked carefully — by the plant, the pallet and the ton — on a machine in the back office that has never talked to Google. Not one garden- or farm-built system appears on Google's free local inventory list, and only POS Nation reports a vendor-native delivery connector. Two systems are connected to Zachcart today (Windward System Five and POS Nation), both of which also run in home improvement, which reflects how many garden and farm stores grew out of hardware or still share a counter with it.
If your register tracks a sale, we can put it online
Agvance, Ideal, the Counterpoint-based garden systems and the other on-premise suites connect by remote connector — no site visit, nothing changes at the register or in the feed room. Rundoo, MicroBiz and the cloud registers connect by API. Live goods, bagged goods and bulk publish as your register tracks them.

Four outcomes. One connection.
Your in-stock plants, seed, feed, soil and tools on Google Search and Maps the morning the weather turns.
Product pages under your store's name — clean data, live stock, no website project.

No dark orders: the last flat of starts sells and it's off the feed within a minute.
For growers, co-ops and distributors
Serve hundreds of independent garden centers or farm stores? One agreement puts the whole network in the answer — and gives your reps a consented, live view of the shelves they serve.
