They searched for roses at 4pm. The order went to a call center two states away.

Florists live on same-day urgency and lose it to the wire services and the marketplace, which publish a feed and buy the search. Zachcart publishes your real, in-stock arrangements, plants and gift items to Google Search and Maps, AI answers and the delivery apps, synced from the system you already run — so the 4pm search finds the shop that can actually make it by 6.

Floral is same-day, local-only retail.

The search is "flowers near me today," "sunflower arrangement," "orchid plant delivery." The answer should be the shop four blocks away with the cooler full, and it usually isn't, because the wire service and the order-gatherer publish inventory they don't hold and you don't publish inventory you do. Search an arrangement you make every day plus "near me." If a national brand shows up and you don't, that's the dark shelf, and in floral it costs you the order and the margin.

Floral POS is a small, specific market: the florist-first platforms (BloomNation, Lovingly, gotFlowers, QuickFlora, Hana), FloristWare for shops that want their own system next to the wire services, and a general register or two. Six systems in all, none connected yet — each connects by request.

What this mix means for your store

Three of the six systems are cloud and connect by API; FloristWare is the hybrid install still on many counters, and two don't publish how they run. None of the six appears on Google's free local inventory list and none reports a delivery connector. The shape of this vertical is unusual: most florist systems exist to feed the wire services and order-gatherers that compete with the shop for the same order, so the register was never going to publish the shop's own shelf in a way that sends the customer straight to the shop. That is exactly what a direct feed does. Floral inventory also behaves differently — arrangements are made to order from stems in the cooler — so the items that publish are the ones you track as sellable units: standing arrangements, plants, vases, cards, chocolates and gifts.

If your register tracks a sale, we can put it online

BloomNation, Lovingly, gotFlowers and the cloud systems connect by API. FloristWare and the server-based systems connect by remote connector, reading the item list the system already keeps. Wire orders keep flowing exactly as they do today.
