Does S4 Back Office connect to Google local inventory and delivery apps?
Yes, by request. S4 Back Office is not in Zachcart's live directory yet, but if it can track a sale we can connect it. We build new integrations in days, not quarters, using the API or Remote Connector (confirmed at technical intro) pathway. Request it and we review your install; once connected, your items, counts and prices publish to Google Search, Maps and Shopping and to the checkout channels Zachcart enables. Connecting is free; Zachcart takes 2% on orders it brings you.
What S4 Back Office is
S4 Back Office is a point-of-sale system used in grocery, convenience and fuel retail, sold by Software 4 Retail Solutions (private), Aurora NE. It is a system whose deployment we confirm with you, aimed at small and mid-sized, mid-market retailers. The company reports 4,000+ live sites: a company-reported figure that has not been independently verified, so read it as a signal of scale rather than an audited base.
How the integration works
S4 Back Office is deployed in more than one way, so the pathway depends on your install: cloud installs connect by API, Windows or server installs through the Remote Connector. We confirm which in a short technical intro.
- 01Technical intro.
A 20-minute call to confirm how your system is deployed and which departments you want online.
- 02Connect.
API authorization for a cloud install, or a remotely installed connector for a server install. Either way, no site visit and nothing changes at the counter.
- 03Live sync.
Changes at the register flow to your online listings continuously, so a shopper never drives to an empty shelf.
What a S4 Back Office store gets
The same inventory feed powers the checkout channels Zachcart enables, so an order is placed against live counts, not a copy of last week's menu.
When someone searches a product you stock plus "near me", your store appears with "in stock" — the signal the chains already show.
Every item gets a page under your store name, not a marketplace's.
Which products people search for in your area and whether you carry them.
Grocery & markets: what decides the integration
Independent grocery runs on LOC SMS, ECRS Catapult (600+ stores on Cognition alone), IT Retail, Markt POS, Vori and generalist systems, while chains run NCR Voyix, Toshiba, GK and Oracle. No enterprise grocery POS is on Google's free Local Inventory list. Instacart is effectively closed to POS-native catalog sync in public sources: its only named POS partners, DUMAC and TRUNO, integrate Caper smart carts rather than the marketplace catalog, although Markt POS, IT Retail and Vori describe Instacart integrations on their own pages. Ethnic and specialty markets sit on a long tail of small cloud systems. For an independent grocer the practical gap is the same everywhere: the register knows what is on the shelf and the apps do not.
What we touch, and what we don't
- ✓We read items, counts and prices.
- ✓We leave pricing logic, loyalty, supplier programs and counter workflow exactly as they are.
- ✓Your reseller or vendor does not need to be involved, though we will work with them if you prefer.
